Proposal: Construction of 11 dwellings

HPD worked with the design team and provided a Heritage Statement to support the demolition of Shipley Fire Station and the construction of 11 new dwellings on the edge of Saltaire Conservation Area and World Heritage Site. The application was approved first-

Proposal: Removal of site from green belt and allocation as housing site
Location: Oxford Road, Gomersal, West Yorkshire

HPD worked with the client and a broad professional team over a number of years to have this site successfully removed from the green belt and allocated as a housing site by the recently adopted Kirklees Local Plan. Riva Homes is due to start the construction of 22 homes shortly.

Proposal: Outline planning permission for the construction of up to 70 dwellings
Location: Idle, Bradford, West Yorkshire

Client: Private (developed by Avant Homes)
HPD led a design team preparing a planning application and subsequent appeal that was allowed, granting planning permission for up to 70 dwellings, on land allocated as ‘urban greenspace’. This was the first successful appeal of its kind in the Bradford District and the site is now being developed by Avant Homes.

HPD worked with the architect and client to firstly secure conservation area consent for demolition and then to secure planning permission for the construction of 32 new dwellings.

Proposal: Part subterranean extension linking two listed buildings

Following a negative pre-application enquiry, HPD worked with the architect and client to develop this innovative proposal and achieve planning and listed building consent first-time. The Council have since used it as an example of good design.

Proposal: Re-cladding of building and change of use to builders’ merchant
Location: Bingley, West Yorkshire

Client: James Gore & Sons/ J T Atkinson
HPD worked with James Gore & Sons over a number of years to consider potential alternative uses for their haulage yard and develop and execute a planning strategy for this challenging site within the green belt and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal Conservation Area. It is now occupied by J T Atkinson.
